
Anne O’Sullivan
Actor
Anne O'Sullivan celebrates over 50 years as a professional working actor with performances in over 130 productions. She has performed on Broadway, Off Broadway and regionally in plays at The McCarter Theatre, Williamstown, Berkshire Theatre Festival, The Old Globe, Bay St. Theatre, Yale Rep, Hartford Stage, and Actors Theatre of Louisville among others.
Ms. O'Sullivan has had roles written for her by Jose Rivera, David Ives, James Still and Keith Alan Benjamin.
Recent Accomplishments
In July of 2023, Ms. O’Sullivan created the role of Aislin in the world premiere of José Rivera’s Your Name Means Dream at The Contemporary American Theater Festival in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Mr. Rivera wrote the part specifically for Ms. O’Sullivan and directed the show.

Your Name Means Dream, featuring the same cast and director, will be seen again at the New Jersey Rep in Long Branch from Oct. 31 to Nov. 24, 2024.
In November of 2023, Ms. O’Sullivan appeared in Bonkers in the Boroughs: Five Short Plays by Joy Behar as part of the New York Comedy Festival.
In addition to Ms. O’Sullivan and Joy Behar, the star-studded cast included Bob Ari, Susie Essman, Dan Grimaldi, Danny Hoch, Jackie Hoffman, Lou Liberatore, Irene Sofia Lucio, Josh Henry Sussman, and Renee Taylor.

Becoming Dr. Ruth
Since 2015, Ms. O'Sullivan has been performing Mark St. Germain's one-woman show about Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer,
the legendary sex therapist and Holocaust survivor,
at theaters around the country.
Becoming Dr. Ruth was last staged in April and May of 2022 at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and was directed
by Stephen Nachamie.

Other Stage Shows
In the late 2000's, Ms. O'Sullivan received a grant from The Spencer Cherashore Fund to research and play Mary Harris Jones, also known as Mother Jones. The commissioned play, Mrs. Jones, is a part of that epic story.
In 2011, Ms. O’Sullivan had an acclaimed performance as Emily Dickinson in the one-woman show The Belle of Amherst at Ensemble Studio Theater, where she has been a member for over 35 years.

A Long Love Affair with the Screen
Beginning with a PBS version of Cormac McCarthy's The Gardener's Son with Ned Beatty and Brad Dourif in 1977 and continuing on through today, Ms. O'Sullivan has enjoyed a rich professional life on screens large and small.

On TV, Ms. O'Sullivan has had many guest roles on Law & Order (all three incarnations), Sex and The City, Third Watch, Cosby, ER, and Models, Inc. (featured regular). Most recently, she appeared on Show Me a Hero and Red Oaks.
